Porcelain Forrest
Patterns and Details can be found in both the man-made and the natural world.
They are all around us and often we miss them or just see them so often that they become invisible.
However, humans are drawn to nature’s patterns, finding solace, inspiration, and balance within them.
They serve as a reminder of the beautiful complexity of life.
I have found inspiration in the process of creating this porcelain forest.
The aesthetic process of hand building the trees and vases helped me to observe and appreciate the world around me.
The meditative painting of the leaves reminded me to pause, breath deep and find peace in the slow rhythm of the everyday.
The small details of the individual leaves, that would normally blend as one, have been methodically composed to inspire us to live in greater harmony with nature.
Porcelain Forrest was created for a show at Nicolai Kunst & Design in Kolding from August 15 - October 19, 2025,
a group exhibit with 22 members of the Danske Kunsthåndværkere og Designere Association.
